JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Basics • The Butler is at all times the Ambassador for MSC Cruises.
• The Butler will become the Crew member the Guests will know personally and come into contact with more often than any other person on board.
• For the passenger, the Butler will be the most trusted person on board.
Experience Required Minimum of three years in Butler, Valet or Supervising Waiter position - preferable on Cruise Ships.

Responsibilities
    For this position, your requirements are:
    - Leads by example, consistently conveying a positive attitude, maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, and taking pride in their work.
    - **Embarkation Duties:** Available at the terminal check-in to welcome guests, responsible for welcoming them to their cabins and assisting them throughout their stay.
    - **Guest Information:** Provide all necessary information for guests to enjoy their stay, including facilities, services, excursions, transportation, and spa services.
    - **Familiarization:** Assist guests in becoming familiar with facilities and controls, including air conditioning, life jackets, muster station, emergency information, TV remote, safe, light switches, etc.
    - **Inquiries and Complaints:** Handle guest inquiries and complaints under the supervision of the head butler, ensuring they are resolved quickly, courteously, professionally, and to the guests' satisfaction.
    - **Communication:** Communicate yacht club guests' requests and concerns to the head butler promptly.
    - **Disembarkation Requests:** Receive requests for disembarkation arrangements for guests with special needs or requests.
    - **Company Literature:** Deliver all company literature and notices as per the head butler's instructions.
    - **Gifts and Services:** Deliver gifts and flowers before embarkation and/or during turn-down service, and provide room service as required by the chief housekeeper.
    - **Daily Program:** Deliver the daily program on the bed in the appropriate language according to the guests' dinner time.
    - **Ice Service:** Provide ice to guests during each service (morning/evening) and upon request.
    - **Newspapers:** Deliver newspapers as per company standards.
    - **Laundry:** Collect and return personal laundry and/or dry cleaning for guests.
    - **Special Care:** Offer special care to guests who are ill or traveling alone, as discussed with the head butler.
    - **Mini Bar Stock:** Check stock and document daily for mini bars in all cabins, collecting supplies as required from the mini bar pantry.

    **Responsible for providing a unique service to the guests as follows:**

    - **Meal Setup:** Set up for any breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the Topsail Lounge.
    - **In-Cabin Service:** Set up and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner in cabins if required.
    - **Private Parties:** Organize and serve private parties in suites or Topsail lounges when required.
    - **Excursions:** Accompany guests on excursions if requested.
    - **Refreshments:** Assist in serving refreshments at any time during the day and night (according to the shift).
    - **Unpacking/packing:** Offer an unpacking/packing suitcase service.
    - **Clothing:** Lay out guests' clothes.
    - **Pool Towels:** Set up pool towels on balcony chairs on sunny days.
    - **Mini Bar:** Replenish the mini bar, water, and coffee (when available) with each service.
    - **Fruit Basket:** Deliver/replenish fruit baskets (as per company SOP).
    - **Canapés and Sweets:** Deliver canapés and sweet plates during turn-down service.
    - **Crockery Removal:** Remove used crockery, flatware, and glassware from cabins for delivery to the room service pantry for washing.
    - **Shoe Shine:** Offer a shoe shine service.
    - **Facilities Assistance:** Assist guests with the safe and television facilities.
    - **Cabin Services Introduction:** Introduce cabin services to guests upon embarkation.
    - **Safety Explanation:** Explain safety procedures to guests.
    - **Maintenance Reporting:** Report any maintenance issues to the housekeeper and ensure they are resolved as a priority.
    - **Invitations and Messages:** Arrange for a variety of invitations and messages.
    - **Luggage Delivery:** Deliver guests' luggage to their cabin.
    - **Missing Luggage:** Report any missing luggage, ensure it is found, and deliver it to the guests' cabin.
